Caesars Sportsbook and the New York Mets Agree to a Partnership to Open a Sportsbook Location at Citi Field

Caesars New York Sportsbook extended a partnership with the New York Mets as the new season is starting on Thursday. The team has named Caesars their official sports betting partner.

Caesars Sportsbook Partners With the New York Mets

The partnership is big news for those who have club and Caesars’ Rewards memberships as both parties entered a multi-year agreement. The redesigned area at Citi Field will be used for VIP access for Caesars Rewards members.

This comes after the New York sports betting market launch while making the Empire State the most lucrative market in the industry and the betting capital of the world. Caesars also led the way for a little while by offering the biggest welcome promotion in the industry’s history.

The agreement plans to open a retail sportsbook lounge area at Citi Field. This is not the first time Caesars has done this, as the bookmakers continue to strengthen their presence in the sports betting industry.

Breaking Down the Dimensions of the Lounge

The 13,000 square foot space will open its doors to the public at some point during the 2022 MLB season. This will be located at the Metro Grille on the Excelsior Level at Citi Field. The area will feature a multi-level dining room and outdoor patio seating that will be overlooking left field.

This is set to be the biggest deal between a sportsbook and an MLB organization. There will be huge changes to the stadium that haven’t been done for quite some time in Citi Field. The time changes were when the Wilpons were the owners of the franchise as the team moved in fences for the second time at Citi Field.

Chris Holdren, Co-President of Caesars Digital, stated in a press release;

“The Mets’ fanbase is one of the most loyal in baseball and this partnership offers us the chance to treat those passionate fans like Caesars. We look forward to opening our space at Citi Field during an exciting time for the franchise.”

The partnership also allows Caesars to use the official logo and marks, TV-visible in-game signage, and broadcast and digital content across all Mets’ properties for Caesars Sportsbook. Caesars is an authorized gaming partner of the MLB and is currently operating in 23 states.

New York Sports Betting Market Success

In the first month of operation, the Empire State took flight with a handle that surpassed $1.6 billion. That comes as no surprise as New York is the fourth most populous state in the nation. California, Texas, and Florida don’t offer legalized sports betting to those who reside in those states.

Caesars is a renowned brand in the gaming industry, and this partnership proves that the operator is leveraging that brand awareness in the Empire State. The cross-town rival, New York Yankees, as well as other professional sports franchises, are looking to bring betting kiosks to their venues as well.

Some analysts predict that this will increase Caesars’ market share in the monthly sports betting handle reports. Caesars has taken a backseat after FanDuel took over the top spot with the biggest handle for a few months.
