Thursday July 23rd NASCAR Super Start Batteries 400 Betting

Kevin Harvick Getting the Pole Just Isn't Fair Here

Super Start Batteries 400 Betting Preview written by Betting Brain NASCAR Expert Cliff “Tire Wear” Johnson🏁🔧 .

It’s Thursday night NASCAR with the Super Start Batteries 400 betting. We know who the chalk of the race is as points leader Kevin Harvick (+400) gets the pole from Kansas Speedway. Harvick has won here 3 times in 28 races at this track but it was Denny Hamlin (+700) and Brad Keselowski (+1100) who scored the wins in Kansas City last season.

Joey Logano (+1100) seems to have value starting in the #2 spot considering his 7th and 3rd place finishes the last two weeks. There was a new face in the winner’s circle last week as Austin Dillon (+8000) scored his first win of the season. Will we see somebody new step up again in Super Start Batteries 400 betting? Here are my picks:

Clint Bowyer +5000

If there’s such a thing as home track advantage Clint Bowyer has it in Super Start Batteries 400 betting as his hometown of Emporia, Kansas is about 1.5 hours from Kansas Speedway. Granted that hasn’t translated to success as Bowyer has 0 wins in 23 races here but he came in 5th in May and 8th in October at the two Kansas Speedway races last season.

Bowyer is a +115 matchup with Erik Jones who raced well in Kansas last season (3rd and 7th) but has finished 11th or worse in 3 of the last 4 events this season including 22nd in Kentucky and 33rd at the Brickyard. Bowyer has four straight events in the top 15 including 2nd at the all-star race.
Pick: Driver head to head Bowyer +115 over Jones

Cole Custer +10000

Let’s shake things up a bit in Super Start Batteries 400 betting by looking for another solid finish from Cole Custer. The rookie had a reality check last week at Texas as he got in the middle of a 12-car wreck and finished second to last. Prior to that though Custer won in Kentucky and had a top 5 finish in the Brickyard in two of three races. The #41 Ford comes from 24th in his 1st ever race at Kansas but that’s why we get the high odds.
Pick: Custer top 5 finish +1400

Martin Truex, Jr. +700

There’s decent value on Martin Truex, Jr. in some capacity for Super Start Batteries 400 betting consider he has the best average finish (since 2017) of all the drivers in the field at 5.67. Truex has finished in the top 10 in five of six in those races while also tallying two wins. Truex moved from 31st to 20th in the race at Kansas last May but will have a much easier time Thursday coming from the 5 spot.
Pick: Truex top 5 finish -110

Chase Elliott +650

Hard not to like Chase Elliott from Kansas Speedway on Thursday, a place where he finished 4th and 2nd in the two races last season. Elliott starts 11th here but his 4th place finish in last May’s race came while starting all the way back at 32nd. Elliott has the 3rd best average finish at Kansas over the last three years (8.67).
Pick: Elliott top 3 finish +195

Cheers to some hot laps and cold beverages from a steamy Kansas Speedway on Thursday 🍻
