Seattle Seahawks at Los Angeles Rams Betting Preview

The NFC West showdown between the Seattle Seahawks (5-8, 3-4 away) and Los Angeles Rams (9-4, 4-2 home) was moved from Sunday’s timeslot to Tuesday after it was reported that the Rams have 21 players on the COVID-19 reserve list. The delay gives the Seahawks extra time to prep for a Rams team that defeated them 26-17 in Week 5.

Tuesday’s new game time is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. EST at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, CA. Los Angeles is a 6-point favorite in the divisional tilt, and the over-under total is at 45.5 points.

What to Know – Seattle Seahawks

Seattle aims to run their current winning streak to three games and keep their slim playoff hopes alive against their NFC West rival. The Seahawks own back-to-back victories over San Francisco and Houston over the last two weeks.

The Seahawks average 20.9 points with an offense that generates 335.5 yards per game. Defensively, Seattle holds opponents to 20.2 points and allows teams to average 406.0 yards of offense per game.

Russell Wilson completed 17-of-28 passes for 260 yards, throwing a pair of touchdown passes in Seattle’s 33-13 victory over the Texans last week. Seattle racked up 453 yards in the victory.

Rashaad Penny carried the ball 16 times for career-high 137 yards and two touchdowns. Penny finally got the lion’s share of the carries out of the backfield and emerged as the Seahawks’ primary rusher.

Seattle is 7-6 against the spread this season with a 4-3 mark away from Seattle. The Seahawks are 1-5 ATS in their last six games against the Rams.

What to Know – Los Angeles Rams

The Rams also look to win their third in a row and all but lock up a playoff bid in the process. A victory for Los Angeles with help from the rest of the teams in the AFC could have the Rams secured for the postseason with three weeks to spare.

Offensively, the Rams have one of the best offenses in the NFL, scoring 28.2 points per game and averaging 397.6 yards of offense. The Rams defense surrenders 22.5 points and 367.4 yards of offense to opposing teams.

On Monday night, Los Angeles escaped Arizona with a pivotal 30-23 victory over the Cardinals. The Rams outscored the Cardinals 14-0 in the third quarter to pull ahead of Arizona and hold on for a key divisional win.

Matthew Stafford tossed three touchdown passes, and Cooper Kupp hauled in 13 passes for 123 yards and a touchdown in Monday night’s win. Stafford tossed passes to three receivers, with Odell Beckham Jr. and Van Jefferson also hauling in touchdown throws.

This year, the Rams are 6-7 ATS and 3-3 at home. Los Angeles is just 2-5 ATS in their last seven games but 4-2 in their previous six against opponents in the NFC West.

The Pick is In

The second meeting between these two teams has a little more on the line than in Week 5. A win for Seattle and their slim playoff hopes remain, but a loss and Seahawks are eliminated from postseason contention.

Los Angeles should take the series sweep against Wilson and the Seahawks, but Tuesday’s contest will be closer than their first meeting two months ago. The Rams win, but the final is within a touchdown.

Betting Pick: Seattle Seahawks +6.5
