NFL Pick: Cincinnati Bengals at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Overview

The Cincinnati Bengals head down south to sunny Florida for their week 13 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The last time these two teams met was back in 2010 and 2006 before that so head to head stats and trends don’t hold much value although it probably is worth mentioning that the Bucs have won the last 6 meetings.

Head to Head Trends

Bengals are 0-6 straight up in the last 6 meetings.
Bengals are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 meetings.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+4)

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are 4th in the NFC South with a 2-9 record but amazingly they are still in the playoff picture as the 1st place Falcons and Saints have just 4-7 records. This has obviously not been a good season for the Bucs it’s actually probably a step back from last season which has to be a big disappointment to fans and the organization as most people though they would be much improved this season although if they were able to somehow win 3 or 4 of their last 5 games and make the playoffs I think the first half of the season would be quickly forgotten. The Bucs have one of the worst offenses in the league averaging just 318 yards and 18.8 points per game and it they don’t get much better on defense allowing 368 yards and 27.3 points per game.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers Trends

Buccaneers are 15-35-1 ATS in their last 51 home games.
Buccaneers are 4-10 ATS in their last 14 games overall.

Cincinnati Bengals (-4)

The Cincinnati Bengals are 1st in the AFC North with a 7-3-1 record just a half game up on the Ravens, Steelers, and Browns who also all have 7 wins but that tie is keeping the Bengals in 1st place. The Bengals got off to a quick start winning their first 3 games of the season but they then went winless over their next 3 games which included blowout losses against the Patriots and Colts and a 37-37 tie versus the Panthers. The Bengals have turned things back around again winning 4 of their last 5 games. The Bengals are ranked 14th on offense averaging 22.4 points per game and they are ranked 13th on defense allowing 21.3 points per game.

Cincinnati Bengals Trends

Bengals are 4-1-1 ATS vs. a team with a losing record.
Bengals are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games following a ATS win.

Conclusion

I’m going with the Cincinnati Bengals -4 over the Buccaneers in this one. I don’t think the Bengals are an elite team but they are solid  and the Bucs are one of the worst teams in the league so I think the Bengals win by 7 plus points.
