Super Bowl LVII: Kansas City Chiefs at Philadelphia Eagles Betting Preview

The stage is set for Super Bowl LVII and fans are in for a good one when the Kansas City Chiefs (14-3) and Philadelphia Eagles (14-3) battle for the Lombardi Trophy. Kansas City is 2-2 in Super Bowls, including a 1-1 mark under head coach Andy Reid. The Eagles are 1-2, their lone winning coming in 2017.

Sunday’s contest kicks off at 6:30 p.m. EST inside State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. Philadelphia is a 1.5-point favorite and the over/under number is set at 51 points.

What to Know – Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are back in the Super Bowl for the third time in four years aiming to win the franchise’s third Lombardi Trophy. Kansas City got to this point with wins over the Jacksonville Jaguars and Cincinnati Bengals.

Offensively, the Chiefs led the NFL in both scoring offense (29.2 ppg) and yards per game (413.6 ypg). Kansas City’s defense ranked in the middle of the league allowing 21.7 ppg and 328.2 yards of total offense.

The injury report is encouraging for Kansas City leading up to Sunday’s contest. Starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes and two weeks to rest his ankle and the Chiefs won’t be without any key pieces of the roster that aren’t already placed in the injured list.

Kansas City is 8-11 against the spread up until this point and the total has gone under in four of the last five games. The Chiefs are 6-0 ATS over the last six contests against teams from the NFC.

What to Know – Philadelphia Eagles

Philadelphia won its lone world championship in 2017 and hopes to get back into the winner’s circle Sunday night. The Eagles waltzed their way to the title game with comfortable victories over the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers.

The Eagles offense was third in the NFL scoring 28.1 ppg and tallying 389.1 yards of total offense. On defense, Philadelphia has one of the top units, limiting opponents to 20.2 ppg and 301.5 yards of total offense.

Philadelphia has a light injury report as well with many of the names on the list reserve players. Backup wide receiver Britain Covey is questionable while reserve lineman Brett Toth and Josh Sills have been ruled out.

The Eagles own a 10-9 record ATS and the total has hit the under in five of the last six games. Philadelphia is 2-4 ATS over its last six matchups.

The Pick is In

Kansas City and Philadelphia are led by a pair of quarterbacks that possess the ability to attack a defense through the air and on the ground. Both have weapons on offense that the defenses will have trouble to contain. The Chiefs have the x-factor in Travis Kelce, and we predict a late scoring drive in the fourth quarter by Kansas City to secure the victory and hit the over.

The Pick: Kansas City Chiefs ML & Kansas City/Philadelphia OVER
