Boston Celtics vs. Philadelphia 76ers Betting Preview for Nov 8, 2023

The NBA schedule is absolutely loaded with big games on Wednesday night, including a clash between two of the best teams in the Eastern Conference. The Philadelphia 76ers are set to host the Boston Celtics and there is no love lost between these two teams.

Boston is coming into this game off of a loss as they suffered a 114-109 overtime loss in Minnesota to the Timberwolves. The Celtics have still gotten off to a 5-1 start this season, and they look like the favorites to win the Eastern Conference.

Philadelphia has rattled off five straight wins after losing in the season opener, and they now have a ton of momentum. The 76ers no longer have James Harden on this roster, and it appears to have freed them up a bit.

The Boston Celtics are 1.5-point betting favorites over the Philadelphia 76ers in this game on Wednesday night.

Celtics Scoring Some Points

The Boston Celtics went out and brought in some offensive talent during the offseason, and those moves appeared to have paid off. Boston is scoring 123.5 points per game so far this season, and they have a ton of scoring options.

Jayson Tatum has been the best player on this roster as he is leading the way with 30.5 points per game. Jaylen Brown has also poured in 23.2 points per game this season, and the Celtics can attack opponents in so many ways.

The defense for the Celtics has been sharp this season as well, as they have not given up over 114 points. Boston has struggled to stop Joel Embiid in the past, and that’s going to be a huge key in this game.

Philadelphia Playing Fast

James Harden has dominated the basketball and the pace of play over the last few years for the 76ers, but that’s no longer the case. This team has been playing extremely fast to begin the year, and they just scored 146 points in their most recent game.

Joel Embiid is the current MVP of the NBA, and he is setting the tone for the 76ers with 32.5 points per game. Tyrese Maxey has also enjoyed more freedom on offense this year as he is averaging 25.5 points per game.

Philadelphia is going to have to find a way to be better on defense as the season moves along, and that could be a challenge on Wednesday night.

Sixers Slip Past the Celtics

There are going to be a number of All Stars on the floor in this game, and you should expect plenty of points to be scored. Boston is a hard team to defend, but the Sixers always find a way to attack them in the paint.

Joel Embiid is going to be the difference in this game as he has made a career of lighting up the Boston Celtics. The Celtics are going to play tough on the road, but they will come up just short in this game.

Bet on the upset in this game as the Sixers slip past the Celtics in this Eastern Conference clash.
