Los Angeles Rams at Seattle Seahawks Betting Preview

The Los Angeles Rams (3-1, 1-0 away) look to rebound on the road against the Seattle Seahawks (2-2, 0-1 home) to kickoff Week 5 of NFL action on Thursday night. Los Angeles suffered their first loss of the season last week against Arizona, and the Seahawks bounced back after a two-game skid to take down San Francisco.

Thursday’s kickoff is at 8:20 p.m. EST at Lumen Field in Seattle, WA. According to the oddsmakers, the Rams are a 2.5-point road favorite, and the total over-under is 55.

What to Know – Los Angeles Rams

The Rams aim to get back in the win column after a 37-20 beatdown at the hands of Kyler Murray and the Cardinals. The trip to Seattle will be the Rams’ second road trip of the season. Los Angeles currently sits in second place in the NFC West.

Los Angeles is averaging 28.8 points per game behind an offense that generates 398.5 yards per game. Defensively, the Rams have taken a step back in play this year, allowing teams to average 420.5 yards and 24.8 points per game.

Matthew Stafford has elevated the Rams offense in his first month in Los Angeles. The former Detriot Lions quarterback has thrown 11 touchdown passes to just two interceptions. Wide receiver Cooper Kupp is his favorite target, hauling in 30 receptions for 431 yards and five touchdowns.

Los Angeles is 4-1 against the spread in their last five games against the Seahawks, and the over has hit in all four contests for the Rams this season.

What to Know – Seattle Seahawks

Seattle suffered a pair of losses to Tennessee and Minnesota but went on the road and took down the Niners last week, 28-21. The Seahawks return to Lumen Field for just the second time this season when they take the field Thursday night. Seattle is in third place through one month in the NFC West.

Offensively, Seattle scores 25.8 points and piles on 368.0 yards of offense per game. The Seahawks surrender 462.8 yards and 25.0 points per game to opponents.

Veteran quarterback Russell Wilson is completing 72.5% of his passes and hasn’t turned the ball over yet this season. The 32-year old has thrown for 1,044 yards with nine touchdowns with another touchdown on the ground. Wideouts Tyler Lockett (20 receptions, 333 yards, 3 TDs) and DK Metcalf (20 receptions, 285 yards, 3 TDs) continue to be Wilson’s favorite targets through the air.

The Seahawks are 2-4 ATS over their last six matchups, and the under has hit in 10 of their previous 13 games.

The Pick is In

Thursday’s contest pits a pair of NFC West rivals against each other in what should be one of the better TNF games of the season and the first meeting between the two teams since last season’s playoffs.

The contest will be a back-and-forth battle, but the Rams seem to have the upper hand against Seattle and pull away with a narrow victory late in the second half.

The Rams leave Seattle with a bounce-back victory over Wilson and the Seahawks.

Betting Pick: Los Angeles Rams -2.5
