Indiana Fever vs Dallas Wings – WNBA Preview – Aug 12, 2025

The Indiana Fever will host the Dallas Wings on Tuesday night at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM ET. Indiana holds an 18-14 record and sits third in the Eastern Conference, while Dallas is 8-24 and seventh in the West. This is the fourth meeting between the teams this season, with Indiana winning two of the first three matchups.

The Fever enter off a 92-70 win over Chicago, while Dallas is coming off a 91-78 home loss to Washington. Indiana continues to play without All-Star guard Caitlin Clark, who is missing her 11th straight game with a groin injury. Guards Aari McDonald and Sydney Colson are also out for the season, forcing lineup adjustments. Dallas has dropped five straight games and has struggled in the second half of contests.

Fever Preview – Mitchell Running the Show

With Clark out, Kelsey Mitchell has stepped in at point guard and has been productive. She put up 26 points, a season-high eight assists, and just one turnover in the win over Chicago. Mitchell has not played the position since college but has handled the role well in recent games.

Lexie Hull’s improved shooting has been a boost, as she scored 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting, including 4-of-6 from deep against Chicago. Aliyah Boston remains steady in the paint, scoring 15 points on 7-of-11 shooting while adding four rebounds and two blocks. NaLyssa Smith and Kristy Wallace provide additional scoring depth in the rotation.

Indiana averages 81.6 points per game and ranks fourth in the league in first-quarter scoring at 20.7 points. Defensively, they give up 80.8 points per game and are third in assists allowed at just 18.5 per game. The Fever are 10-6 at home this season and 18-15 against the spread overall.

Wings Preview – Struggling to Finish Games

Dallas enters at 8-24 and has not won since July 25. In their latest loss to Washington, the Wings built a 41-30 halftime lead but were outscored 33-17 in the third quarter and 28-20 in the fourth. Paige Bueckers led the team with 17 points despite playing through a back strain, and she is expected to play Tuesday.

Arike Ogunbowale, the team’s leading scorer, was limited to 12 points on 4-of-10 shooting in the last game. Howard Jones added 11 points, while Louisa Geiselsoder scored 10. Dallas averages 81.6 points per game but allows 84.6, ranking near the bottom in defense. They are last in the WNBA in blocked shots per game at 3.8.

The Wings have struggled badly on the road with a 3-12 away record. They are 15-17 against the spread but just 7-23 in their last 30 games overall. Dallas has lost their last four meetings against Indiana in Indianapolis, giving up 100 or more points in three of those games.

Betting Prediction

Indiana is favored by 6.5 points, with the total set at 170.5. The Fever have won six of their last eight games and are 4-1 ATS in their last five home games. Dallas has failed to cover in three of its last four games and has been outscored by an average of 11.4 points during its losing streak.

Mitchell’s playmaking, combined with Boston’s post scoring and Hull’s perimeter shooting, gives Indiana an edge. Dallas can score in stretches but struggles with consistency and defensive stops late in games. The Fever’s home-court record and recent form suggest they will control the matchup. Predicted final score: Indiana 88, Dallas 78.

Pick: Indiana -6.5
