NFL Thanksgiving 2022 Giants at Cowboys Betting Preview

New York Banged Up Coming Into Thursday's Game

It might look somewhat surprising that in a game between a couple of 7-3 teams that Dallas is a -10.5 favorite in the Giants at Cowboys betting matchup. The double digit point spread is a result of New York losing 31-18 at home against Detroit last week (while Dallas was beating Minnesota 40-3 on the road) as well as some significant injuries to the Giants.

New York will be missing four of their five offensive line starters from last week as well as their two starting CBs. Dallas LB Micah Parsons (knee) and DE Demarcus Lawrence (foot) are banged up as well – but both probable and ready to wreak havoc on the New York backfield.

Jones Ready to Feel the Heat

Giants QB Daniel Jones probably wasn’t looking forward to this game either way considering he was sacked 5 times by the Cowboys in week three and pressured more than any QB this season in Dallas’ 23-16 win at MetLife Stadium in New York as a +1 point underdog.

Jones has been hurried 37 times this season, just one shy of Kyler Murray for most in the NFL and that’s when he had a healthy offensive line. Jon Feliciano (neck), Shane Lemieux (toe), Andrew Thomas (illness), and Tyre Phillips (neck) are all lineman that started last week but are in doubt for the Giants at Cowboys betting matchup.

Jones and New York managed 324 yards passing last week to go along with 89 on the ground, but Detroit also gives up the most yards in the NFL – and the Giants scored just 18 points. Dallas is coming off a game in which they held Minnesota to 183 total yards of offense.

Cowboys Bounced Back Well in Week 11

Dallas really should be on a 4-game winning streak coming into Thursday afternoon’s matchup considering they took a 28-14 lead into the 4th quarter in Green Bay two weeks ago before suffering a 31-28 OT defeat. The Cowboys had been 195-0 when taking a 14+ points into the 4th quarter before the meltdown in Green Bay.

Despite an unprecedented blown lead at Lambeau Field, Dallas did a good job of shaking that game off and thoroughly dominating Minnesota last Sunday handing the Vikings just their second loss of the season. Tony Pollard had 189 total yards with two receiving TDs while Zeke Elliott had two TDs on the ground. By the way the Lions ran for 160 yards last week vs. New York.

Dak Prescott (thumb) did not play in the first meeting of the season vs. New York as Cooper Rush was 21/31 for 215 yards. Prescott was in full command of this offense last week, completing 22/25 passes and now he gets a Giants secondary missing both Adoree Jackson (knee) and Fabian Moreau (ribs) who started at CB vs Detroit.

Free Giants at Cowboys Betting Pick

It can be hard to give double digit points in a conference rivalry game, but it’s hard to see the Giants doing anything on Thursday night. Jones is going to be under duress the whole game, especially when having to throw the ball while playing from behind as Prescott picks apart a depleted New York secondary. Statement game for the Cowboys.
