NCAAF Week 12 Oklahoma State at Oklahoma Betting Preview

Can the Bedlam Series Deliver on Saturday Night?

It’s been an up-and-down year for both teams in the Oklahoma State at Oklahoma betting matchup so who knows what the Bedlam Series will bring in 2022. OU (5-5) was ranked as high as #6 in the country before a 41-34 loss to Kansas State as -13.5 favorites sent them into a 2-5 tailspin.

#22 Oklahoma State (7-3) themselves rose to #8 in the rankings before a 43-40 OT loss at TCU, who is up to #4 in the country. OSU has dropped two of their last three, including 48-0 at Kansas State, who the Cowboys would now need to lose twice for Oklahoma State to get into the Big 12 Championship Game. The Sooners can get bowl eligible with a win, one of the reasons they are -7 point home favorites on Saturday night.

Oklahoma State Tries to Overcome Their Own Defense

The fact that the Cowboys are in fact 7-3 and with a faint chance at reaching the Big 12 Championship game really is a testament to the OSU offense considering the Cowboys are second worst in the nation allowing 305.4 passing yards/game.

Oklahoma State has survived some real shootouts this season like 58-44 against Central Michigan in the opener, beating Texas Tech 41-31, the 43-40 loss to TCU, and surviving Texas 41-34. Are we going to see a similar score in Oklahoma State at Oklahoma betting considering the O/U is 66.5?

OSU is getting +7 on Saturday night and they have some value at that number with QB Spencer Sanders returning last week in the 3rd quarter to help lead a 20-14 win over Iowa State after missing most of the previous two games with a shoulder injury. OSU had scored 34+ points in each of their first six games of the season with Sanders before the shutout loss to K-State.

Oklahoma Needs Some Offense

The Sooners haven’t put up the offensive numbers as they’ve done in recent years with Lincoln Riley at the helm, but they’ve had some moments such as in a 52-42 win over Kansas and a 49-14 victory over Nebraska.

Regardless of a couple big offensive games, Oklahoma is the third worst team in passing in the Big 12 at just 234.6 ypg. Oklahoma State makes almost any QB look good though, and OU quarterback Dillon Gabriel went for 400+ vs. Kansas and threw 4 TDs against K-State. Gabriel threw 3 INTs two weeks ago against Baylor, but he’s also only thrown an INT in one other game this season.

Even if the Sooners can’t get their passing game going on Saturday night, RB Eric Gray has stepped up as a massive weapon running for 211 yards last week in a 23-20 loss to West Virginia. Gray has multiple TDs in three of the last four games and OSU gives up the fourth most rush yards in the Big 12.

Free Oklahoma State at Oklahoma Betting Pick

It’s Senior Day and it’s Bedlam so emotions really can’t get much higher in Norman. The only problem with that is the Sooners are just a bad team, losing five of their last seven. This Oklahoma State defense makes them vulnerable to get blown out each week, but if Sanders can manage his pain then the +7 is just too many points.

Free Pick: Oklahoma State +7
