PointsBet Set to Go Live in Pennsylvania

PointsBet is set to go live on Thursday and will become Pennsylvania’s 14th sportsbook to enter the state. As for the company, this will be the tenth state the sportsbook will be operating in as Pennsylvania is a strong competitive market in the industry.

PointsBet To Go Live Just In Time For The Super Bowl

Last month, PointsBet received an internet sports betting and interactive gaming operator authorization thanks to the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. In the terms of the agreement, the sportsbook operator must go through a three-day soft launch before full operation and marketing can begin.

According to a press release, the full launch is expected to take place by mid-afternoon on Thursday and will be good to go before the Super Bowl.

PointsBet has had successful launches across ten jurisdictions, including neighboring states like New Jersey and New York.

PointsBet launch in Pennsylvania comes exactly two weeks after the provider launched in the Empire State. New York’s sports betting handle hit $1.6 billion, which is an industry record. PointsBet was one of the seven operators to witness the record-breaking handle.

PointsBet Group CEO and Managing Director Sam Swanell stated, “The PointsBet team is excited to continue to prove our reputation and consistent ability to deliver a world-class experience.”

The goal is to provide potential new customers with the best sports betting and online casino experience. PointsBet will also have the opportunity to use its media partnership to strengthen its brand and presence in the Keystone State.

PointsBet Marketing Strategy Partnership with NBC Sports

PointsBet will have the opportunity to promote and integrate its sports betting brand across NBC Sports Philadelphia. The broadcast station is home to the Philadelphia 76ers, Philadelphia Phillies, and the Philadelphia Flyers.

The exclusive partnership is set to be five years long. PointsBet will also look to target a new group of sports fans with its full-Spanish-language functionality via Telemundo Deportes and Telemundo broadcast stations.

PointsBet USA Chief Marketing Officer Kyle Christensen stated in a press release, “We are excited to continue telling the PointsBet story and demonstrate to sports fans and bettors in Pennsylvania exactly what sets the brand apart among the rest.”

PointsBet will be entering a strong market as the sportsbooks recorded $4.73 billion in total revenue to end 2021. The total revenue was 78.5 percent higher when comparing the 2020 numbers, which hit $2.65 billion and was 38.7 percent more than the $3.41 billion revenue in 2019.

PointsBet isn’t likely to stop as it continues to explore new markets beyond the United States.

PointsBet stated earlier this month that the company would be one of the first operators to launch in Ontario’s new iGaming market, which is set to commence on April 4th. The brand is registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario.
