NBA Friday February 11th Timberwolves at Bulls Betting Preview

Minnesota Back in the Midwest

The Timberwolves have won five of their last six coming into the February 11th Timberwolves at Bulls betting matchup which should give them confidence heading into the Windy City. Four of those wins came against Detroit (2), Sacramento, and a shorthanded Utah squad though, and their lone loss was ugly in a 132-119 loss also to the Kings on Wednesday.

Chicago has lost three of their last five, but they also played a lot of basketball last weekend with two back-to-backs, playing four times over the span of five days. The Bulls finally got some rest on Tuesday, and they looked fresh in a 121-109 win at Charlotte on Wednesday as -2 point favorites. Despite being refreshed, the Bulls are just -2 point favorites on Friday.

Timberwolves With Weird Travel Lately

Minnesota had Thursday night off which they hope helps them recalibrate a bit after a quirky trip out to Sacramento for a back-to-back with the Kings. Traveling from the Midwest to play consecutive games on the West Coast caught up with the Timberwolves on Wednesday when they lost by 13 to the Kings a night after beating them 134-114.

Sacramento had some life on Wednesday thanks to the debut of the recently acquired Domantas Sabonis who had 22 points and 14 rebounds. The loss snapped the T’Wolves five game win streak and dropped them to 13-16 on the road this season. Minnesota is still looking good though sitting in the 7 spot in the West.

The stars have shown up for Minnesota lately, with Karl-Anthony Towns scoring 21+ in 8 straight games and grabbing double digit rebounds in five of those. Towns also has 5+ assists in five games over that span. D’Angelo Russell had 29 points and 10 assists in the second game against the Kings while Anthony Edwards had 26 on Wednesday.

Bulls Finally Refreshed

Minnesota had some weird travel with a quick two game trip to Sacramento and back, but the Bulls had to squeeze in some make-ups and ended up playing the rare consecutive back to backs, having four games in five nights. It’s no surprise Chicago was 1-3 over that stretch.

Chicago is back to a normal schedule and they looked good in a 121-109 win in Charlotte on Wednesday night. It was a collective effort from the Bulls’ trio of stars as DeMar DeRozan had 36 points, Zach LaVine 27 in his second game back from a back injury, and Nikola Vucevic pumping in 18 points and 15 rebounds.

DeRozan has 36+ in three straight games, LaVine is averaging 29.5 the last two, and Vucevic has 12+ rebounds in six of the last seven. Vucevic is probable with a hip injury, but the Bulls also hope to get electrifying rookie Ayo Dosunmu back after he’s missed the last couple games with a concussion.

Free February 11th Timberwolves at Bulls Betting Pick

The Bulls are just a -3 point favorite on Friday night mostly because they’ve lost three of their last five which looks bad on paper. Two of those defeats came against the Sixers and Suns though while the other was on the road against a red hot Toronto team. Minnesota’s recent success has come against horrible / shorthanded teams so give the Bulls the edge here.
Chicago 127 – Timberwolves 116
