NFL News: 2018 Super Bowl LII Futures

2018 Super Bowl futuresSuper Bowl LI has just ended and it was perhaps the best one ever, but it’s never too early to consider the 2018 Super Bowl futures. We took a look and to no one’s surprise the New England Patriots are favored to win it all in 2018 with the Atlanta Falcons being a close second.

We’ve got all 32 teams listed below. We’ve broken them up into most likely (from 6-1 to 15-1 odds), less likely (from 20-1 to 40-1), unlikely (from 45-1 to 75-1), and undeniable long shots (Any team with triple-digit odds). Remember that 2018 Super Bowl futures are not predictors of what will happen but, more so, an assessment of where a team is now.

2018 Super Bowl Futures- Most Likely

As noted, it’s the Patriots who are favored and everyone else.

It’s interesting to note that of eight teams above all but the Denver Broncos made it to the postseason. None of the teams above were eliminated in round one.

Less Likely Champs

The Kansas City Chiefs top the second tier of 2018 Super Bowl futures.

Three of the above teams were in the 2017 playoffs, the Chiefs, Giants, and Raiders. We wonder if the Chiefs and Raiders should not be listed at a little better odds and find the Panthers to be ranked a bit too high.

Unlikely to Win the Super Bowl

This is a very interesting group. Note that the Houston Texans, who made the playoffs this year, aren’t seen as being very competitive. This is mostly due to their quarterback situation.

I’m not sure of the Redskins or Lions should be at 50-1 and 70-1 respectively. I think both are a little better than that.

Long Shots to Get There

There’s no denying that those teams that have odds of 125-1 or worse deserve them.

As far as betting on these 2018 Super Bowl futures, we suggest you put a little cash on a long shot or two and a few buck on a couple of teams in the other tiers. I like the value in Tampa Bay, Detroit and Washington. Let’s face it $10 on the Bucs gets you $400 and on the Lions gets you $700. Not a bad investment and return on your cash if you hit.
