Colorado Avalanche vs. Dallas Stars Betting Preview

Game 2 of the Western Conference Playoff Series between the Colorado Avalanche and Dallas Stars is set for Thursday night. Colorado comes into this game with a 1-0 series lead and they will now look to take complete control.

Colorado is a recent Stanley Cup champion, and they still have much of that same core that got to the top of the league. The Avalanche have now won five straight games in the postseason, and that will give them a ton of momentum ahead of this game.

Dallas comes into this game having gone 3-2 in their last five games and they had a tough time dealing with the Vegas Golden Knights in Round 1. The Stars did win the Central Division title this season, which gives them home ice advantage in this series.

The Dallas Stars are moneyline betting favorites at -130 over the Colorado Avalanche in what is essentially a must-win game.

Avalanche Rolling on Offense

The offensive numbers for the Colorado Avalanche in the postseason are staggering as they are one of the best teams in the league. Colorado has scored 26 goals in their last five games, and that makes them nearly impossible to beat.

Cale Makar has really stepped up his game so far in the postseason as he is leading the team with 12 points in the playoffs. This is a deep and talented offensive team, and they can’t be stopped when they get on the power play.

This team does need to find a way to be better on the defensive end of the ice, but that just hasn’t been necessary at this point due to the offensive production that they are getting.

Stars Must Get Stops

The Dallas Stars were a great offensive team during the regular season, but that’s not how this team wants to try to win the Stanley Cup. Dallas has a ton of physical veterans, and they will be looking to set the tone with their defense.

This team held opponents to just 2.83 goals per game during the regular season, and that needs to be the focus in this matchup. Dallas gave up four unanswered goals in the Game 1 loss, and that’s just not going to get the job done.

Wyatt Johnston has been the best offensive player for the team in the postseason, racking up five goals and eight total points. Even though Dallas wants to win this game on defense, they will need some offensive players to step up.

Stars Even Up Series With Win

The Colorado Avalanche are coming into this series with a ton of momentum, and that is especially true when looking at the top offensive players. Colorado has been giving up some goals during this run, but they just continue to be nearly impossible to stop.

Dallas has been dominant on both ends of the ice all season long, and playing at home should give them an edge in this matchup. The Stars simply can’t afford to lose this game, and that should allow them to come up with enough offense to take control.

Bet the Dallas Stars at -130 on the moneyline in Game 2 as they will pick up a win to even up the series with the Colorado Avalanche.
