MNF Pick: San Francisco 49ers at St Louis Rams

Monday Night FootballOverview

The San Francisco 49ers head into St Louis for their big Monday Night Football game against division rivals the St Louis Rams. Last season the 49ers won their two meetings versus the Rams winning 23-13 in San Francisco and 35-11 in St Louis both of which covered the spread.

Head to Head Trends

Home team is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 meetings.

St Louis Rams (+3)

The St Louis Rams are last in the NFC West with a 1-3 record. The Rams have not looked all that good through the first 4 games of the season with their only win coming against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who are giving Jacksonville a run for their money as the worst team in football. The Rams are averaging 21 points per game which is below average but they are actually 8th in yards per game with 392. The Rams main problem this season has been on defense where they allow just under 30 points per game and they have the 2nd most rush yards against allowing 152 per game.

St Louis Rams Trends

Rams are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
Rams are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. NFC West.

San Francisco 49ers (-3)

The San Francisco Giants are tied for 2nd in the NFC West the Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers got off to a good start winning their season opener in Dallas beating the Cowboys 28-17 but they then just lost their minds in their second game and handed the Bears a win and they kind of did the same thing again in their next game versus the Cardinals with sloppy play and penalty’s losing them the game. They seem to have things under control again and have won their last two games beating the Eagles and Chiefs who are both pretty good teams. Also the 49ers have had one of the toughest schedules so far playing all good teams with their opponents having a combined 18-9 record.

San Francisco 49ers Trends

49ers are 22-6 ATS in their last 28 Monday games.
49ers are 12-2 ATS in their last 14 games in October.

Conclusion

I like the 49ers to absolutely crush the Rams in this one tonight and I think having to lay just 3 points is a total gift. The Rams are a pretty bad team only beating the Buccaneers who are maybe the worst team in football. The 49ers on the other hand are a top team and they could easily be 5-0 if you take away a couple 2nd half collapses.
