Golden State Warriors vs. Phoenix Suns Betting Preview

The Golden State Warriors (35-33, 28-7 home) close out a quick two-game homestand with a matchup against the Phoenix Suns (37-30, 15-19 away) on Monday night. Phoenix has won all three matchups against the Warriors this season, including a 125-113 victory back in January.

The Western Conference clash tips off at 10 p.m. EST inside the Chase Center in San Francisco, California. Golden State is a 4.5-point favorite while the over/under total is 238.5 points.

What to Know – Golden State Warriors

After dropping all three road tests last week, the Warriors bounced back at home over the weekend in a 125-116 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks. Golden State has won seven-straight inside the Chase Center. The Warriors enter the week sitting in sixth place in the Western Conference standings.

Golden State is second in the NBA in scoring, averaging 118.1 points per game while hitting 47.4% of its shots from the field and 37.0% from the 3-point line. The Warriors defense is 25th in the league, surrendering 117.6 ppg, 47.0% shooting from the floor and 36.5% from beyond the arc.

The trio of Steph Curry (29.8 ppg), Klay Thompson (22.0 ppg), and Jordan Poole (20.6 ppg) paces the Golden State offense. Curry has led the team in scoring in four-straight contest, averaging 33.0 ppg over that span.

Coming into Monday’s tilt, Golden State is 32-35-1 against the spread and 23-11-1 ATS inside the Chase Center. The Warriors are 7-0 ATS over their last seven games at home.

What to Know – Phoenix Suns

 

Phoenix has won three in a row on the road but comes into the matchup off a loss at home to the Sacramento Kings, The Suns sit fourth in the Western Conference, but are playing without the services of NBA star Kevin Durant for the foreseeable future who recently went down with an ankle injury.

Offensively, Phoenix is 19th amongst NBA teams averaging 113.4 ppg thanks to 46.7% shooting from the floor and 37.8% from deep. On defense, the Suns are fourth in the NBA, holding opponents to 111.2 ppg, 46.4% shooting from the field and 35.8% from three.

Devin Booker (27.7 ppg) and Deandre Ayton (18.2 ppg) are making up for the loss of Durant offensively. Booker has led the Suns in scoring in six of the last seven games.

The Suns own a 36-29-2 record ATS with an 18-15-1 mark ATS on the road. Phoenix is 4-0-1 in its previous five matchups away from home.
