Iowa Fourth State to Legalize theScoreBet

theScoreBet recently launched in Iowa and is now available in four states. The company also has plans for future expansion.

theScoreBet History

theScoreBet has quickly become a top sports betting app in the United States. It first launched in New Jersey’s legal sports betting market before going live in Colorado and Indiana.

Providing an immersive sports betting experience, theScoreBet’s look is similar to theScore’s original sports website. The book offers excellent odds for players as well as weekly bonuses and odds boosts.

New Players in Iowa that join the score will receive a deposit match up to $1,000. Many of the other legal sportsbooks in Iowa provide bettors with a risk-free bet. theScoreBet’s massive new player promotion has been well-received in Iowa.

The Iowa Launch

theScoreBet is based out of Canada. The book secured market access in Iowa through a deal with Penn National Gaming. theScoreBet has partnered with Penn National in a multi-state agreement, so it’s believed that theScoreBet will continue to grow its presence in the United States.

John Levy is the Founder and CEO of Score Media and Gaming Inc., the company behind theScoreBet. This week, Levy made it clear that he was overtly pleased by increasing the theScoreBet’s footprint in the United States sports betting market.

Levy stated that “We’re thrilled to introduce our mobile sportsbook to Iowans as the college basketball season heats up ahead of the tournament in March. We have a large base of theScore app users in Iowa, and now, with the launch of theScore Bet, fans will have easy access to our integrated and technology-driven sports betting experience.”

The company’s original media platform, theScore, is a primary reason the betting platform is making headway throughout the United States.

theScoreBet’s technology partner is Bet.Works. This partnership has helped Score Media and Gaming blend their sportsbook and sports media app to create an inclusive, statistically driven sportsbook for players in legal states.

An example of this is the new Bet Section on theScore’s mobile book. This will utilize a player’s interests from theScore app to create a personalized betting market for players to view. The Bet Section will help players lock in bets quickly and be able to focus on the game.

theScoreBet has a vast sportsbook, but not all players want to wager all game types on the book. This new section will help minimize time spent scrolling through the sportsbook.

A Growing Iowa Market

Iowa had a mandatory in-person registration until January 1, 2021. Once the state lifted this requirement, the market experienced its largest sports betting month ever. The state set records in total sports betting handle, mobile handle, and total monthly revenue.

The total handle in January was $149.5 million, which was up 42.7% from December. It was Iowa’s fifth straight month with a record-breaking handle.

Iowa’s handle increase from January 2020 to January 2021 was 157%, which should cause a lot of excitement throughout the state legislature. Records are expected to continue being shattered with William Hill, BetMGM, BetRivers, and PointsBet recently launching in Iowa.
