NFL Week 7 Sunday Night Football Free Total Pick

Are Philadelphia and Dallas Set for a Shootout?

On paper the NFL week 7 Sunday night football free total pick seems like it would be a high scoring one when the Eagles visit the Cowboys. Then again, these are two division rivals that are very familiar with each other. Either way, oddsmakers are expecting the offenses to show up  in primetime, listing the total at 49.5.

Philadelphia Offense Doing Their Job

Wentz hasn’t gotten much help from his own defense in getting wins this season.

The Eagles are 3-3 this season, a mediocre yet still-in-first-place kind of start. For all the scrutiny going down in Philadlephia sports talk radio, the offense really has done their jobs so far in scoring 20+ points in every game of the season and 31 or more three times.

Will the Eagles keep that trend going in the NFL week 7 Sunday night football free total pick? Most of Dallas’ issues are on their offensive side of the ball but the Eagles have the well rounded attack to put the Cowboys top 10 defense on their heels. Carson Wentz threw for 306 vs. Minnesota, but he was held to under 190 yards in the two games prior. Jordan Howard and/or Miles Sanders could help Philadelphia rack up the points on the ground because in the Cowboys’ last home game they gave up 107 yards and 4 TD to Green Bay RB Aaron Jones.

One factor that is favoring this one to go towards the ‘over’ side is the Eagles defense, which ranks 29th in the league vs. the pass. The Eagles held the Jets to 6 points in week 5, but otherwise have allowed at least 27 in 4 of 6 games this year. What Philadelphia does have going for them is that they have stopped the run well, giving up just 72.8 yards per game.

Make or Break Game for Garrett and Dallas Offense?

Elliott ran all over the Eagles defense last season.

If you listen to the national headlines you’d think that the Cowboys offense was in complete shambles right now. That was definitely true in their 10-12 week four loss at New Orleans, but otherwise the Cowboys have scored at least 22 points in every game this season. Dallas put up 31+ in each of the first three games of the year, albeit against some bad competition (NYG, WAS, MIA).

What Dallas can do is score against Philadelphia. They put up 27+ in sweeping the series against their division rivals last season. Last year’s game in Dallas saw Dak Prescott throw for 455 yards and 3 TD with Ezekiel Elliott adding 113 on the ground. Dallas also won the meeting in Philadelphia by a score of 27-20, with Elliott adding 151 on the ground in that game on just 19 carries.

The Cowboys offense should be good for another 27 or more points in the NFL week 7 Sunday night football free total pick. It’s the Dallas defense that is in jeopardy of keeping this game below the 49.5 number. The Cowboys are a top 13 team vs. the run and pass and top 10 in total yards and points allowed. Then again, how much of those rankings were built up from the weak competition early in the season? Sam Darnold did throw for 338 yards vs. the Cowboys secondary last week in his first game since returning from mono.

Dallas will do their part in this one. They are at home and Garrett is starting to feel the pressure after three straight losses. Plus, the Eagles defense gives up a ton of points. The onus is on the Philadelphia offense in terms of the total. The Eagles are just .500 on the year, but Wentz and Co. has been pulling their own weight. The number is up there – but it should be.
